Wedding Headband How-To

Many brides tend to slash their big day budget by doing their own hair and make-up. All you need is the right accessory and a little practice.

“Simple and effective, wedding headbands can add sophistication and glamour to your look whether you are the blushing bride or a wedding guest,” he said. “The trick is to get the right balance, pick the right hairstyle to go with your headband so that you work with your own hair's advantages and to get the correct proportions with head shape. For instance, a long face should avoid a headband sitting right at the top of the head and choose a hairstyle with less height and more width.”

You can use a sparkly headband like this one to great a boho chic, wavy, effortless look. Apply styling spray (I use Sebatian) throughout roots to add volume, then take even size sections and wind around a medium size barrel tong, twisting each section as you wind. Work around the head methodically, winding each section in the same direction. Place the headband just in front if the crown and then loosen the waves with your hands and pushing and teasing the hair to lift the roots. Finish with hairspray.
